Floating:  The floating type of floor can only be used with cross ply and wide engineered planks.  Floating in this case means it is installed over a cushioned padding making it nice and soft for walking.  When laying a floating floor with this plant flooring material you should be sure to leave plenty of expansion room.

Unfinished:  As with hardwood, unfinished means it is in its natural form. Sometimes you can choose to finish it yourself or you can leave it as-is depending on your needs.
